ORPHANS ENTERTAINED

OUTING TO HENDERSON . Over 450 children at Auckland orphanages were given an outing on Saturday afternoon by the Auckland Motor Trades' .Association, which has entertained the children for the past three years. The children were taken in 80 motor-cars to Tui Glen, Henderson, where the picnic grounds were placed at the disposal of the association by Mr. C. F. Brookes. The children left the city ht two o'clock and the journey homeward was commenced at 4.30. The work of organising the outing was carried out by Mr. B. Lowry, of Mount Eden, who was assisted by an executive, each member of which was responsible for one home. Hie children at the Anglican orphanage, Papatoetoe, wore in/the charge of Mr. A. Todd, those at the Buckland Road Methouist orphanage were under Mr. E. C. Niinon, those at the Epworth Baptist orphanage, Mount Albert, under Mr. George White; those at the Wesley Methodist orphanage, Mount Albert, Under ScJibrook, JFowlds, Limited; those at the Manurewa Baptist orphanage under Mr. F. B. Cadinan; those at the Dingwall Presbyterian orphanage, I'apa.toetoe, under Mr. G. W. Spragg;. those at the Onehunga Presbyterian orphnnage under Mr. J. W. Henley; those at the Leslie Presbyterian orphanage, liomuera, under Mr. "Williams, of Northern Automobiles, Limited; and th'oso at the Star of the Sea Catholic orphanage, Hawick, under Mr. Hood, the Canada Tyre Company, Limited.
