BRIDAL CAR MISHAP

CRASH INTO' A BUILDING VEHICLE UNOCCUPIED . A large empty limousine taxi which was waiting to fake a bride to her wedding suddenly moved backward down Selwyii Street and crashed into a stationery and confectionery shop near the Onehunga school shortly after two o'clock yesterday afternoon.. The car had drawn up in front of a house on a steep part of the road. While the driver was delivering flowers for the bride, the heavy vehicle moved backward. Crossing the street it crashed into the shop, which is owned by Sir. R. Sutherland, almost completely wrecking the front portion.of the building, and then continued along the side of the house to which the shop is attached and came to rest against the kitchen. Crockery, pots and pans and bottles of jam were scattered in all directions. The wall of the house also was considerably damaged, but the car, protected by the rear bumper, escaped almost unscathed. Mrs. Sutherland, who a minute before had been standing near the crockery cupboard, was walking out of the kitchen door when the crash occurred, and escaped unhurt. As there was still half an hour before the ceremony, another car was obtained and the bride did not know of the accident.-
