ROWING TITLE
GOODSELL TO COMPETE (Received March 29, 7.5 p.m.) LOS ANGELES, Mnrch 28 Major Goodsell, University of California rowing coach and former world's single sculls champion, states that he will compete in the race for the title at Toronto, Canada, in the autumn. His opponents will be Ted Phelps, Great Britain, the present champion, Bobby Pearce, the 1932 Olympic champion, and Bert Barry, of Great Britain. Goodsell said lie understood the race, which will bo over a course of four miles, with three turns and a first prize of £IOOO, would take place during the Toronto Exhibition, between August 30 and September 9. Hp said he would bring his trainer, George Towns, from Australia to prepare him for the test..
