POT PLANTS IN THE HOME

Pot plants in a small room are often n mistake. An exquisitely fine maidenhair fern, or some attractive flowering plant justifies its existence, but aspidistras should be banished, and palms are often more effective in the hall than in the living room. Palms, at the best of times, are cold, rather stiff things, and a room is happier without them, while aspidistras are out of fashion and frankly ugly. They should never be put in a room, but aro better left out in the garden, or at least on the verandah. There is a fashion for nutting a pot plant in the fireplace, but nowover lovely tho pot plant, it always looks unnatural in a fireplace. It is far bettor to leave the fireplace empty.,
