Oats: Slightly easier. Peas and beans: Quiet. Beet sugar: April, 5s 9|d. RABBITSKIN SALES At the London rabbitskin sales to-day 2500 were offered and 1040 were sold. Furriers' sorts were neglected and pulling sorts were 5 to 10 per cent below January rates. Unpulled sorts were 5 per cent down. EXPORT OF APPLES AUSTRALIAN EXPERIMENT An interesting experiment will be carlied out at Hobart, Tasmania, shortly, when a fast cargo vessel will leave for Rotterdam with a full consignment of apples stowed in non-refrigerated space. The vessel is expected to make the passage in 32 days. A call will be made at Port Said, where a smaller consignment will bo landed. The apples will be stowed in cases on the shelter deck, allowance being made for a free current of air between the cases. Special precautions will bo taken in regard to stowage and ventilation. Careful records will be kept during the voy age. It is expected that freight on this vessel will work out at about 3s lJ*d a case, compared with about 4s 2d a case for apples carried in refrigerated holds. Apples chosen for shipment will be the harder varieties, such as Jonathans, Dunns and Cleopatras. STOCK SALES TE AWAMUTU QUOTATIONS Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual tri-weekly sale at To Awamutu on Thursday, when there was a large yarding, consisting of 2167 sheep, 355 cattle and 562 pigs. There was a good attendance of buyers, full late rates were obtained, and a very satisfactory sale resulted. Daleety and Company, Limited, report having a good yarding of all classes of rattle. There was a' good attendance of buyers, with keen competition, and prices were on n par with late rates. PRICES AT TE KUITI [by telegraph—own correspondent] TE KUITI, Friday Dalgety and Company, Limited, report that at their usual fortnightly sale at Te Kuili, to-day there was a heavy yarding of cattle, many good lines of bullocks coming forward. Buyers weie present from the Waikato and. although values were considerably easier than at tno February sale, vendors met the market and the bulk of the yarding was sold under the hammer. A medium yarding of sheep sold at late rates. Friday Brisk competition ruled for tlio small J'ardings of store sheep at Matawhero today. and values were firm on previous quotations. There wns no alteration in tho fat sheep rnkrket, compared with last week. Thero was an uninteresting entry of fat cattle. Good cows mado up to £2 12s Gd: lighter, to £1 I7s Gd; fairly well-finished heifers, £1 17s Gd, The entry of fat sheep totalled 619 Ono pen of owes mado 6s 2d: moßt pens, 5s Id to 5s lOd; and a few sold nt 4s 7tl to 4s lOd. Prior at Pukekura on Thursday, there was a large attendance, nnd a very good sale resulted for the small herd of 16 cattle. Eyerytliinc changed hands under brisk competition. Best-conditioned dairy cows, at profit, made £6 to £7 ss; medium, £5 to £0; poorer, £3 10s to £4 15s.
