CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING

AUCKLAND GUN CLUB There was a larga attendance at Paku« ranga on Saturday afternoon, when th* Auckland Gun Club held a series of matches. In view of. the forthcoming New Zealand championships, to be held on the?**'." grounds, the club invited other clubs ti» participate in order to familiarise shooters with the existing conditions. There was a fine attendance of shooters from Hamilton, Huntly, Metropolitan and Takapuna Clubs in addition to the local members, and a fine day's sport resulted. The first five birds match was divided by C. Seddon (27yds) and L. F. Ramsey (25yds) with the iJossible. The second match, was divided by C. Seddon (23yds), L, P. Ramsey (2Gyds), R. H. Bartley (22ydsl and J. A. Malcolm (21yds) with five each. The third match was divided by L. F. Ramsey (27vds), W. E. Grant (23yds) and J. A. Malcolm (22yds) with the possible of five. The final match of 10 birds with 1? competitors resulted in an outright win fop W. E. Grant (15yds) with the possible, all first barrels. C. Seddon (19yds), L. Peterson (lSyds), \V. H. Hazard (14yds), G* Kosoof (14yds). W. J. Turner (14yds), J. McGregor (12yds) and 3S. Saunders (llydsJ all shot nine . each. ' The next match will be held *|ex.
