BROADSIDING SEASON

FINAL MEETING TO-NIGHT OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT The final brondsiding meeting of tha season will be held at Western Springs Speedway this evening, when a programme of exceptional interest will be presented.A large crowd is expected if the weather is fine. The track has been carefully prepared, as fast racing is anticipated. A feature of interest will be the appearance of W. Kilmister, the Wellington champion, who has ridden with success at Monica Park, Christchurch, during tha season. Kilmister will be matched against A. Mattson, the best of the local men, while he will also take part in the New Zealand open championship against tha visiting team of riders. The competitors in the championship will be E. Langton, world's, champion, W. Phillips, N. Key, E. Gregory and T. Stevenson, all of England, R. Tauser, the American champion, W. Kilmister and A. Mattson. The event will be run in three heajfs and a finaL In addition, there will be a series of matcli races between leading riders, while events for local men only are included in tho programme. It is probable that an attempt to lower the New Zealand record will b e made during the evening.
