[BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN, Friday The final solo event? in the New Zealand band contest were judged to-day. Results were:—
B Flat Cornet (own choice).—G. Chri»tie.
Bass Drum Solo (sight test).—W. * Woodley (Mataura To v Wn Band), 40 points, 1; H. J. Hall (Wanganui Garrison Band), 49, 2; R. Allan (Timaru Municipal Band, 38, 3. Side Drum Solo (sight test).—J. Lses (St. Kilda Municipal Band), 40 poirits, 1; E. Andrews (Kaikorai Band), 35 points, 2; W. Sinton (Kaikorai Band), 32 points, 3.
B Flat Cornet Solo (own choice). —G. Christie (St. Kilda Municipal Band), "Nordische," 84 points, 1; R. Milligan (Timaru Municipal Band), "Edelweis?.."83 points, 2; J. H. T. Osborne (Ashburton Silver Band),-"Rule Britannia," 81J points, 3. In the second B grade test selection the Nelson Garrison Band received highest marks. The judge said- the standard was very disappointing and was much lower than in the first test.
