BIG FLAX-WEAVING INDUSTRY PREPARATIONS PROGRESSING New Zealand Woolpack and Textiles, Ltd., report satisfactory progress in connection with the first of their three flaxweaving factories to be erected in New Zealand. The necessary land has been acquired at Foxton and a large number of men are employed in preparing the ground for the foundations. A textile expert is coming from England to supervise the actual erection of the building and the installation of the machinery. "Other factories are later to be established in Auckland Province and in Southland. The company has acquired the Coghill process whereby flax can be successfully employed for woolpacks and general sacking goods on an economic basis. Convincing demonstrations have been given throughout the Dominion, and the company was formed only after a thorough investigation extending over a period of two years. The company, which is a public one, went to allotment in under a month with a nominal capital of £300,000. The company has a security of ample supplies and is not ,in any way . connected with any Flax Bond Company.
