FARMERS' UNION
WOMEN'S DIVISION ± SUCCESS OF EXCHANGE SHOP The first meeting of the year of the Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, Auckland branch, was held on Wednesday. Mrs. L. L. Allen, president of the Waitemata Provincial Council, and Mrs. W. Edwards, of the Invercargill branch, were present. The resignation of the president, Mrs. E. Anderson, owing to ill health, was received with regret and Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell was elected to fill the vacancy. Mrs. Edwards gave an interesting talk on the shop of exchange for farmers' wives' produce, which had proved helpful in relieving the present-day straitened circumstances of many country homes, enabling the mothers to clothe and educate their children.
