BULL THREATENS AIRMEN
AEROPLANE ON RACECOURSE FLIGHT RESUMED IN HASTE [from our own correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday The occupants of an aeroplane which arrived at the Waipa Racing Club's course yesterday afternoon experienced something more than the thrill of landing. When the De Soutter monoplane came to rest, a Jersey bull took exception to the landing. The pilot and his passenger had just dismounted when they saw the bull coming toward them, obviously intent upon an encounter. Thty hastily re-entered the machine and taxied to the far end of the field.
The bull followed them, and the best way to avoid an encounter that might easily have caused serious damage to men and machine appeared to be immediate flight. The aeroplane was soon soaring overhead, and the bull, having put his intruders literally to flight, returned satisfied to his pasture.
