CONDEMNATION OF BOOK
CRITICISM BY BISHOP REPULSIVE AND MORBID LONDON, Jnn. 22 " A gross book, grossly written," is how (he Bishop of Durham, Dr. Hensley Hcnson, described Aldous Huxley's " Brave New World," which the Australian Customs Department has put on the list of banned books. " Although the book is repulsive and morbid I don't think it will do any harm, as the moral is obviously untrue," the bishop went on to say. " Nevertheless, it has emphasised the fact that our personal liberty is circumscribed more than it is comfortable to remember or prudent to forget."
