CYCLE HITS FENCE
GIRL PASSENGER HURT PARENTS ESCAPE INJURY As a result of a motor-cycle leaving the road and striking a barbed-wire fence at Birkenhead last evening a 14-vear-old girl, Lisa Ushakoff, who was a passenger in the.sidecar, received lacerations of the head and chest. Her father, Mr. Basil Ushakoff, of 105 Glenfield Road, Birkenhead, who was driving the machine, and Mrs. Ushakoff, who was a second passenger in the sidecar, escaped serious injury.
The accident occurred in Glenfield Road as the party was returning home after being out for the day. In attempting to avoid a collision, the machine left the road. The vehicle was not damaged. The injured girl was taken to the Auckland Hospital by the Devonport St. John ambulance.
