AUSTRALIAN PRICE OF GOLD FURTHER FALL IN VALUE Thu price fixed by the Commonwealth Bank for gold, including jewellery, lodged at the Melbourne Mint, for tho week ended January 20, is at the rate of approximately £6 19s Id a standard ounce (22 carats), equal to a premium of 78.65 per cent. Payment is made according to the nssay value of the gold. The price is 3d lower on the week. The price an ounce is £7 lis Sd, a. fall of 3d on the week.
Thia Commonwealth Bank's price for sovereigns, at head office, Sydney, remains at 35s each.
