•PONSONBY CLUB CARNIVAL' LADIES' DIVE TO, MISS COOKE FAILURE OF RECORD ATTACK The Auckland ladies' diving championship, decided at the Ponsonby - Amateur Swimming and Life-saving Club's ■ carnival in the Tepid Baths last evening, was won by Miss Bebe Cooke, Mount llden Club. The largest number of. .competitors for several years contested the event. Each was required to execute a standing and a running dive. ' Generally speaking, • the diving was of a high standard. Miss Cooke scored her success after having been pallpd upon to dive off with Miss E. 'Bunting 'and Miss R. Woods, both members ,of the Ponsonby Club. The title-holder, Miss J. The latter club turned the tables in the 300 yds. medley relay race, which moved to be an amusing event. The inter-buainess houses reky race was won by Berlei.
