FAMOUS ALL BLACK
A. E. COOKE'S FUTURE PLANS MAY. PLAY FOR SYDNEY CLUB A. E. Cooke, the famous All Black threequarter, may play with the Balmain Rugby League team in Sydney next season. Tfye secretary of the team, Mr. 11. R. Matthews, who returned from New Zealand to Sydney last week, gave the iore'going information to a newspaper representative, who comments as follows : Cooke was the outstanding player of the last All. Black team to tour Great Britain and some consternation was caused when he transferred his allegiance from the Rugby Union to the Rugby League. Cooke played brilliantly in the matches against Sullivan's English Rugby League team in New Zealand last season, and it v.-ajy due to him that the margin in favour of the Englishmen was of the narrowest description. The tourists' victory was due to Sullivan's goal kicking. Cooke, who is at present in New Zealand, is anxious to play with Balmain, end,/provided satisfactory arrangements are made, he will be a member of tho team next year. His presence will make an enormous difference to the Balmain team, for his is regarded as the cleverest attacking threequarter in .New Zealand.
