New Zealand is now awaiting a reply from the Japaneso Government.

• A similar difficulty existed for some time regarding Australia, > where the quarantine regulations restricted tho transshipment of pears and apples to the East, but as a result of representations by the New Zealand Government, the restrictions have now been removed.
