TWO LIVES LOST AEROPLANE FALLS 50 FEET MAN BUKNED TO DEATH WIFE A SPECTATOR NEW GUINEA TRAGEDY By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received December 28, 7.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 28 A report from Port Moresby states that a Moth aeroplane, the property of New Guinea Airways, crashed when taking off from Wau yesterday. Tire machine fell 50ft. and the pilot, Mr. Drayton, was crushed to death by the engine. An American passenger, a surveyor, whose name is given as either L. Harper or Taylor, was burned to death within the view of his wife and child. The American was almost rescued, but one foot became entangled in the wreckage, and the flames spread so rapidly that the rescuers were driven off and the victim was left to his fate.
