FROCKING AT ELLERSLIE

ATTRACTIVE STYLES WORN THE BISHOP-SLEEVE - EFFECT STRIPES AND FLORAL DESIGNS' . r , ■ i • /.i.-/- •.v .'; - Light summer frocks in all their attractive colours and styles were again to be seen at Ellerslie yesterday at the second day of the Auckland-Racing Club's summer meeting. The weather was perfect for tho occasion, and although at times the heat was intense, a mild breeze was usually felt in most parts of both'stands, so that the day was in every way enjoy-, able.. Patterned materials held pride of place in the frocking, in which the most favoured colour combinations were blue and white and black and, white*. Vividlycoloured striped frocks-again made their appearance, and in one or two instances these were finished with wide bishop sleeves in an entirely contrasting shade. Frocks of simpler materials such as linen, gingham, yoilo, pique and Shantung were also favoured, particularly by a number of" the younger racing enthusiasts, and when worn with white shoes and a while hat they looked very fresh and charming.
