This season these great forest trees have been a mass of bloom, presenting a striking appearance all over the island. Of the colour of apple blossom, in form like a small single hibiscus, these flowers secrete an abnormal quantity of honey of excellent flavour and aroma, Tho honey "sets" as firmly in tho hottest weather: as clover honey in New Zealand "sets" in the coldest season. A :few bees-are kept on Norfolk Island, some pure Italians. The honey flow of the white oak lasts for several weeks, the bees then "working" on it exclusively. The famous giant Christmas trees of Norfolk Island have been held this season at the public school at Anson Bay and at the Methodist Church, in that order. Tho Administrator, Captain C. R, Pinney, and Mrs. Pinney attended each celebration. So far tlie season lias been an ideal one. Residents say it is. the best for over 20 years.. Feed is abundant and the island is looking its best. The, rain has been the making of the bean crop, which this year I promises to be. a large one.,
