THE TROTTING MEETING

ATTRACTIVE SUMMER GARB LATEST FASHIONS REVEALED No doubts were held with regard to the weather yesterday, and those who attended the first day of the Auckland Trotting' Club's Summer Meeting at Alexandra Park had every opportunity of wearing their, attractive summer apparel. Bathed in warm sunshine throughout the entire day, the grounds were looking their best, and against them the variety of bright colours worn by women racing enthusiasts showed to attractive advantage as they strolled across the green lawns. Fragile materials such as georgette and chiffon were much favoured and looked very graceful when worn with softlydrooping, wide-brimmed hats, while organdie also had a large number of adherents.

The attractive colour-comhination of black and white was much favoured and looked exceedingly smart. The majority of these frocks were usually composed chiefly of black material and relieved with a white collar or white pointed yoke. More vivid colours, however, were also a feature of the frocking, blue, cherry and primrosa being three of the favourite shades. Even some of the men made a concession to the brilliant weather yesterday by wearing straw hats and, in one or two cases, Palm Beach suits.
