MONEY IN SAYINGS BANS LONG FORGOTTEN DEPOSIT MADE 49 YEARS AGO [l*,E.olt OUR OWN CORRESEOJvDENT] ' 1 ... HAMILTON. Tuesday. Welcome news was received by Mr. H. W. Cleland, of Gordonton, when he learned that a forgotten sum of money placed to his credit in the Post Office Savings Bank by relatives when he was ll years old, was available for collection, together with accumulated interest. Tha amount now totals about £BO. Mr. Cleland, who received the news on his 60th birthday, signed a declaration before a justice of the peace in Hamiiton to-day stating that he was the per-, son in whose name the account stands'. He had completely forgotten about the deposit, and cannot recall the amount of the original credit. He was traced through bis bankers. It will be some weeks, probably, before the,account is transferred to Hamilton and Mr. Cleland is able to lift the'money. Sir. Cleland has been farming a large area in the Gordonton district for many years ______
