PRESENTATION OF MEDALS

CEREMONY AT HOSPITAL

Reference to the high standard of work' maintained by the nursing staff at ths Auckland Hospital was made by Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, at a ceremony in the purses' Home yesterday afternoon, when medab were presented to the nurses who headed the list in the June examinations. _Tba medical superintendent, Dr. J. AY. Craven, the lady superintendent, Miss E. : Niitsey, numbers of the board''and mem. hers of trie nursing staff were-present.. The gold medal for first place jvas presented to Kur.se Enid I'. Wilson, who had gained 88.8 per cent cf the totai-marki and 90 per cent in practical work. The gold and silver medal for second piaca was won by Nurse En a Hollis. with 82.5 per cent of tlie total marks and 83 per cent in practical work. In presenting ths,'. medals, Sir. Wallace was assisted by Miss JS'utsev and Mrs. A. Kictd, a member of the board. "
