THEFT OF TURKEYS
TWO YOUNG MEN FINED
PROSECUTIONS AT WAIUKU

WAIUKU, Thursday
Two young men from Waiuku, Samuel Frederick Wassell and Sydney Gossop, who went on a shooting expedition to the Glenbrook district, twice recently, appeared before Mr. F. H. Levieri, S.M., in tho Waiuku Police Court today charged with the theft of turkeys belonging to a Glenbrook resident. They pleaded guilty. It was stated by Constable A. Bissett that accused went out on November 7, and, apparently finding rabbits scarce, but coming across a flock of turkeys, caught three, of the birds and took them home to Waiuku. The incident occurred after dark. On November 19 the two men again visited the locality and secured another turkey. Their motor-lorry was noticed oil the road and the number was taken.
Accused were each fined £S arid ordered to pay £1 10s restitution.
