DEATH IN MOTOR-CAR
HIKURANGI MINISTER

The death occurred suddenly at Hikurangi late last night of tho Rev. Raynliarn Clifford Stewart, Presbyterian minister at Hikurangi for the past two years. Mr. Stewart had conducted a funoral servico in the afternoon, and in tho evening presided over tho annual meeting of the congregation, which was held at Hikurangi. He drove homo to tho manse about a milo distant after the meeting, and on putting tho car in the garago suddenly expired. Ifis wifo was with him in the car. It is understood thai death was duo to heart failure.
Born in Middlesex, England, in 1882, Air. Stewart had been 14 years in New Zealand. He canio to Hikurangi from Gonyille, Wanganui, where ho became a minister sonic years ago, Ho was in chargo of the .Seamen's Institute in Lvttelton prior to joinng tho ministry. He had spent sonio years at sea, and held a captain's certificate.- Deceased had been performing splendid social service work among tho unemployed of Hikurangi and district. Air. Stewart's mother resides in London, where he also has a brother.'He is survived by his wife and a family of six.
