ASSAULT ON FATHER
YOUNG CHINESE CHARGED
A MONTH'S IMPRISONMENT

TE AROHA, Monday
A Chinese, Wong Gan Hee, aged 18, appeared before justices of the peace at the Te Aroha Police Court on a charge of having assaulted his father. Accused pleaded guilty. Constable Sutton said that when he entered the father's shop it was clear that articles of household use had been thrown about. Accused threatened to kill his father that night if he was not taken away. Accused had recently returned to Te Aroha after serving sentence of a month's imprisonment for a similar offence.
Accused was sentenced to one month's imprisonment with a recommendation that he be kept under medical observation. 1
