MONEY FOR EDUCATION
SCHOLARSHIPS IN SOUTH PROVISION UNDER A WILL [DV TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHUKCH, Thursday Under the will of the late Mr. Herbert Ephriam Lonsdale, of Christchurch, who died on September 19, the testator directs that, after making provision for members of his family, the Public Trustee is to accumulate funds of £SOOO in each case for boys of British parents who have attended primary schools in Canterbury, Nelson, Westland and Marlborough. The scholarships to be made available are to "be ot' an annual value of £75, tenable for three years and to be awarded on the Junior University Scholarship examination or other competitive entrance examination to the New Zealand University. The holders are to attend Canterbury College. Provision is also made in the event of the Government pooling educational endowments or private trust funds set asido for educational purposes so that the funds provided will not be available for the purposes mentioned in the will, but will then become available to the authority managing the Canterbury Museum and the Christchurch Domains Board in equal shares.
