BOOKS FOR CHILDREN

Sir,- —Onco more I appeal to our friends who were so generous in the past, and also to new friends, who will be, we hope, as generous in the future. We, of tho Victoria League, arc greatly in need of picture books and magazines for littlo children, and story books for older boys and girls—especially books for boys, as these are interesting to both sexes, while girls' books are often very dull! People have been very good in keeping us supplied with literature for grown-ups (though we can always do with more!), but the parcels which we have packed of late have completely used up our storo of children's books, and we arc only at the beginning of our Christmas parcels' work. It is too expensive a business altogether to buy new books, and wo are only too delighted to mend any book, no matter how dilapidated—even scattered leaves of picture books wo are glad to put together. Of course, we are always pleased to receive adult literature, as our circle of back blocks recipients enlarges every year—and the relief camps havo been an added drain on our stock. So any parcel, large or small, but especially children's books, will be gratefully received at our new rooms, in the Pacific Buildings, and if anyone is unable to bring them, we can always find a friend with a car who will call for them. With great hopes for the future, E.l<. For the literature committee of the Victoria League.
