HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST UNSETTLED. WITH RAIN TJio following weather forecast for 48 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied by Mr. H. M. Vincent last eveping:—A moderate westerly depression is moving on to tlie Dominion. Expect cloudy and unsettled weather, with rain in most districts, particularly in western and southern areas. Northerly to north-westerly winds, moderate to strong, freshening and backing by west to south. Fairly rough seas on the west coast, especially southward from Gape Egmont; moderate seas on tiie east coast. Local outlook Unsettled, with intermittent rain, although fair intervals will intervene. GOVERNMENT REPORT The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—A moderate, westerly depression is advancing across the Tasinan Sea, and is being followed hy a fairly intense anti-cyclone, which was centred this morning near Adelaide. Indications are for moderate to strong north to north-west winds, "but a change to south-westerlies sotting in shortly in southern districts. After about 24 hours a southerly change is likely to extend northward over the Dominion. Seas rather rough on the east coast about Cook and Foveaux Straits. In the eastern Tasinan Sea, moderate to strong northerly winds, backing shortly to west and south-west. Seas rather tough. The weather will bo unsettled in districts with a westerly aspect, with some rain. Temperatures mild at first, but becoming cooller in the weekend.
