BANKRUPT FRUITERER
SYMPATHETIC CREDITORS DISCHARGE TO BE FACILITATED [by telegraph—own correspondent! WHANGAREI. Friday A meeting of creditors of Ernest Deamer, fruiterer, of Whangarei, was held to day before Mr. A. L. Trcssider, the official assignee. The schedule showed that £2ll was owing to unsecured creditors. Assets were estimated at £146, a deficiency of £65. In his statement bankrupt said he did very well for the first two years, but last December, owing to tho depression, had difficulty in paying his rent and the bailiff was put in. He attributed his bankruptcy to excessive rent, competition and tho general depression. Tho official assignee said that bankrupt had kept his books satisfactorily and had been very modest with his drawings. An offer 011 behalf of the landlord to tako over the stock-in-trade in lieu of rent, with exception of a truck, tools and furniture, which would be retained by bankrupt, was accepted. It. was decided that bankrupt's discharge should be facilitated at the earliest opportunity, creditors stating that bankrupt had been honest in his endeavours to succeed.
