RUAPEHU SKI CLUB
SOCIAL GATHERING HELD EXTENSION GF ACTIVITIES Auckland members of the Ruapehu Ski Club gathered at the Mecca Cafe last evening. Over 30 members; including Mr. R. C. Murie, of Wellington, club captain, and their friends, were welcomed .by tha president, Mr. A. Mead, who stated that it. was proposed to extend somewhat tb# club activities in Auckland to conform with what was being done elsewhert. Closer co-operation between the 80 Auckland members and. other clubs interested in alpine sports was also desired. Various phases of recent winter sports activities at the National Park were depicted by members projecting their snapshots through a baloptican.' Added interest was given by a splendid collection of cinematograph films of the club sports and New Zealand ski championships, as well as a Southern Alps trip filmed and exhibited by Mr. T. Peacock. An election of officers resulted as follows :—Tramping committee, Misses T. Farrelly and J. Rowley, Messrs. J. W. Manning aid J. McComish; social committee : Misses R. Bishop and H. Morse, Messrs. D. Plnmmer, H. C. Sidford and W. Horno (honorary secretary).
