PROGRESS IN ITALY
TEN YEARS OF FASCISM SIGNOR MUSSOLINI'S CLAIMS (Received October 27, 7.45 p.m.) LONDON. Oct. 27 The. Prime Minister of Italy, Signor Mussolini, in an article published in tho Daily Telegraph on " len \ears of fascism," says:— " The regime is not satisfied with the mere making of laws. It has a deeper responsibility. It has permeated the lifo of the people and created an epoch in Italian history, the influence of which -will be felt by succeeding generations. But if we wanted to make a moral balance-sheet it would have been sufficient to point to the increase in our wheat production by 75,ir>1,000 quintals, thus raising the yield from, four to six quintals an acre. We could say that we have made Italy almost independent of foreign wheat. " We coitfd enumerate vast public works and great reforms. We have no strikes, but a producing, industrious working class. There is not a single State in the who'e world that can point to equal achievement. ■ " Fascism is destined to live and it is a living spirit- like the spirits of Cromwell and Washington."
