Ho left by train in the evening for Wellington. Mr. J, L. Brown, of Nelson, formerly chairman of the Fruit Export Board, who has acted as London manager for tho board during tho past J8 months, returned from London by the Rangitiki yesterday. The Rev. M. E. Holmes has resigned his post as assistant-curate at St. Mary g Anglican Church, Karori, Wellington, to lake up a similar position at Tauranga. He will spend a holiday at his home in Christchurch before, coming North. Tho Rev. G. B. Withers, of ' Portsmouth, England, arrived by tho Rangitiki yesterday on a visit to the Dominion. His father, the late Dr. Robert Withers, arrived in Otago from England in 1873. Mr. Withers is the guest Archbishop Averill. Mr. T._ T. Bond, formerly of Auckland, who has established a publishing business in London, returned by tho Rangitiki yesterday after an absence of six years in England. He is a eon of tlio late Mr. J. H. C. Bond, for many years (superintendent in' tlio Dominion for the New Zealand Shipping Company. Tho Rev. John Miller, of Christchurch, returned by the Rangitiki yesterday from a visit to England. Ho was the New Zealand representative at" the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Edinburgh and London, where he ga\e an address on the life and work of the Church in the Dominion.
