Vincent last evening:— An extensive area 6f low barometric pres. sure still covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand, although pressure is fairly uniform. Scattered thunder-showers, due t 0 extreme solar radiation, are indicated in North Auckland and Waikato districts, but mainly fair to fine in most other districts. Variable and moderate breezes, northerlies prevailing. Seas moderate. Local outlook: Unsettled, with heavy showers, particularly in the afternoon. GOVERNMENT REPORT The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: A feeble, anticyclone is passing to the noith of. the Dominion, while a fresh depression is advancing rapidly across the _ Tasman Sea. Indications are for light to moderate winds, but freshening northerly. Seas smooth to moderate, but rising gradually on the west coast. In the eastern Tasman Sea moderate to strong northerly winds, but a change to southerlies advancing later from the west. |eas rather rough.
