Vincent last evening:— The tropical depression is passing eastward, but a secondary tropical disturbance is moving on to tho Dominion from tho west. A temporary improvement is indicated, followed liy further unsettled weather, with additional rain in most districts. Northerly to north-westerly winds, strong and squally, hacking to south. Temperature in shade yesterday (to midnight)— Maximum, 07dog.j minimum, 60deg, GOVERNMENT REPORT The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—The cyclone is now passing off New Zealand but a secondary westerly depression has eloveloped in tho south-west Tasrnan Sea. Indications are for moderate to strong winds, north to west at first over the North Island, but southerlies over the South Island and becoming general during to-night. Later winds again becoming more westerly, moderato to fresh southerly winds soon varying, temporarily to westerlies in the western Tasman Sea. Seas rather rough. Iho weather will be changeable with showers at times in most districts, improving temporarily to-morrow. Temperatures cool.
