MATCHES AT WHANGAREI [FROM OCR OWN correspondent] WHANGAREI, Monday Following are the resujts of matches flayed on Saturday in the Whangarei Cricket Association's competitions:—High School A, £7 (Ross 17), and 31 for seven wickets (Wilkinson' six wickets for 8 runs), was defeated by Nomads, 90 for six wickets declared (Dunn 45, Collins 16). Combined Services. 193 for eight wickets, declared (Wilson 52, C'hitty 32. Provan 3G Retired, Grieve 20), drew with High School B, 80 for two wickets (Gaulton 32, Hawkins 14, Foote IS not out). Whangarei, 80 (Laurie 50 not out), defeated Onerahi, 14 (Gash six wickets for G runs, Wilson four for 6). Whangarei in its' second innings made 96 for four ■wickets (Gash 42). MORRINSYILLE CLUB [FROM OCR OWN correspondent] MORRINSVILLE, Monday At the annual meeting of the Morrinsrille 'Cricket Association it was decided to disband the local association and form a Morrinsville Cricket Club and 6eek affiliation with tho Piako Cricket Association, which includes clubs in the Paeroa, Te Aroha and Matamata districts. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr. G. Howie; president, Mr. P. S. Philpott: vicepresidents. Messrs. H. G. Hewlett. D. D. Dendy. W. J. Aitken and Dr. S. Morrow; secretary, Mr. R. Somers; treasurer. Mr. A. Sheat: management committee. Messrs. Starnes, C. Mclntyre. Grant, McPherson. Stevens presided and gave a review of the successful activities of the club last season. ' The'following officers were elected: —President. Mr. J. A. Guinness; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. J. Stevens and G. Hare; committee. Messrs. H. Bradmore, R. Broberg,. A. Buxton, J. Curtis, and G. Hayman; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. J. Stevens; club captain, Mr. R. Broberg; auditor. Mr. R. Broberg. ... The necessity for encouraging junior players was stressed, and it was decided to endeavour to arrange representative matches for juniors.
