KING'S CLEMENCY
TERRORISTS' LIVES SPARED SENTENCES COMMUTED (Received October 16. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Oct. 15 A message from Tirana states that King Zogu of Albania has commuted the death sentences recently passed on seven terrorists to imprisonment for life. It was announced on September 16 that a mass trial of terrorists, who were aiming to overthrow the regime and assassinate members of King Zogu's entourage, had ended. Seven of the men were sentenced to death and 10 to imprisonment. Seventeen were sent to gaol for 15 years and two for three years. Fourteen were acquitted.' The Judge recommended the condemned men to King Zogu's clemency.
