RETIRED FARMER'S DEATH
COLLAPSE IN MOTOR-CAR VEHICLE ROLLS INTO DITCH [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] GISBORNE. Saturday The death occurred to-day with tragic suddenness of Mr. George William Tiffen, a retired sheepfarmer, and a member of a well-known Hawke's Bay family. ' Mr. Tiffen entered" his car to drive to Gisborne, and after backing across the road lost control. Residents of the locality, who went quickly to give assistance when they saw the car roll into the ditch, found Mr. Tiffen in a state of collapse. He died within a few minutes. Deceased was a son of Mr. F. J. Tiffen, of Hawke's "Bay. He is survived by his wife, three sonff and two daughters.
