CONDUCT OF YOUTH
SEARCH AFTER PLEASURE ANGLICAN SYNOD'S INQUIRY [BY TELEGBAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN, Saturday At the Anglican Synod the Rev. Andrews Baxter, of Southland, moved that synod appoint a commission to inquire into the welfare of youths, in view of the exaggerated search for pleasure and the drinking and general conduct of a large number of young people to-day. Mr. Baxter said drinking went on in many dance halls, and when older people made bridge and golf their gods it was no wonder that young people fell short in the beginning of : then* lives. The motion was amended merely to appoint a commission to inquire into youth welfare, several speakers saying they would not, stigmatise youth in the terms of the original motion.
