THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE A SATISFACTORY TURNOVER There was a satisfactory turnover of business at the single call on the Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday. Recent levels were generally maintained and some of the leading issues advanced on salo. The market for Government loans was unchanged, with a fairly wide range of offers. Banks were fairly active, New Zealands again selling at 465, with offers 2d lower at 45s lOd and quotations unchanged at 46s 3d. A parcel of Nationals of New Zealand was placed Is higher at £4 and Unions changed hands 3d higher at £7 18s 6d, although in both cases the existing levels showed no variation. With the exception of a decline in offers for South British of 3d to 56s 6d, the insurance section was unchanged. In tho other sections Australian Glass regist6red a further gain, a lot being released Is higher at 395, with a slight shading in offers and a firming in quotations. In Devonport Steams holders lowered long-standing limits of 20s to 19s and an offer was made at 15s. Holders of British Tobaccos quoted 6d higher at 32s 6d, but bffers at 31s 3d showed a decline of 3d. There was a sale in Taranaki Oilfields Id lower at 2s 7d. A sale in Wailiis was the only transaction in mining. A parcel was secured unchanged at 17s 3d and offers on this basis registered an advance of Id. Holders quoted unchanged at 17s 4d. For Mount Lyells sellers advanced 4d to 21s 6d, but offers at 21s were steady. CLOSING QUOTATIONS
