MARINERS' MEMORIAL
DEDICATION OF CHAPEL FLYING ANGEL MISSIONS V The mariners' memorial chapel of St.Peter, in the new building of the Flying Angel Missions to Seamen, was dedicated 1 by the primate, Archbishop Averill, at a service yesterday, afternoon. The chapel is a memorial to 15,000 membsrs of the merchant service who died in the Great War. "Wo have erected this building to be a help to the lives of the visiting seamen to the port of Auckland," said Archbishop Averill. "The chapel will provide help from a religious point of view, and I am convinced that there is not one seaman ■who has not got some religious feelings, however well they may be concealed. ' Commander E. L. Bert lion, represent: ing the Koyal Navy, Captain H_ H. Sergeant, on behalf of the board of manager ment, and representatives of the Koyal Naval Volunteer Reserve, the merchant service, and the Ladies' Harbo.ir Lights Guild attended the service.
