St. George a Chapel is one of the-- finest examples o\ Perpendicular architecture in England and ranks next to Westminster Abbey as a Royal mausoleum. Windsor Castle was hnt erected by William the Conqueror in the 1 Ith century and was reconstructed and added to by succeeding monarchs the castle became, in the reign of Henry VIII., as it is to-day. In the centre can be seen the round tower and its flag turret from which the Union Jack or the Royal Standard is hoisted according as the King is absent or present.
