SCHOOL BOXING

BOUTS AT KING'S COLLEGE ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS Some excellent bouts were witnessed in the preliminary contests of the King's College annual boxing championships, which were held in the college gymnasium last evening. The eliminating rounds in the feather-weight, bantam and welterweight tournaments were decided and the concluding rounds of these and the heavyweights will be held this evening. Many of the competitors revealed a good knowledge of the finer points of the science and there were some spirited rallies in all the bouts. Decisions in seven bouts were given on points and a technical knock-out awarded in the other two. Mr. N. McLean, of the Northern Boxing Association, was referee. The results were : Feather-weight.—R. (J. King, 651.'711>., brat 0. J. Taine, 6st. 81b.. on points; M. A. Hume, 6st. 121b., beat 0. Duignan, '6st. 121b., on points; I). C. Roberton, 6st. 61b., beat R. B. Abbott, 6st.. on points. Bantam-weight.—R. 11. Parker, Bst., beat W. Wilson, 7st. 121b., on points after a very willing bout; C. McGruther, 7st. 81b., beat F. L. Abbott, 7st. 81b., on a technical knock-out in the second round A. L. Shrubsall, 7st. 61 L>., beat P. A. Miller, 7st. 61b., on points; R. H. Caughey, 7st. 51b., beat R.
