ACCIDENTS AT FOOTBALL
PLAYER IN HOSPITAL INJURY TO LEG FEARED The New Zealand Rugby League representative J. Laird was taken to the Auckland Hospital to undergo an X-ray examination at the conclusion of the charity game between Marist and Pcnsonby at Carlaw Park on Saturday afternoon. It is believed that Laird has. injured a bone in one leg, and a further examination will be made to-day. Laird came from South Auckland recently, and is one of the most promising forwards id the League code. FRACTURE OF THE ARM HIKURANGILEAGUE PLAYER [from our own correspondent] WHANG AREI, Saturday While playing League football at Hikurangi this afternoon, E. O'Callaghan* single, aged about 23 years, of Hikurangi, received a fracture of the right forearm.He was admitted to the Whangarei District Hospital His condition is satisfactory.
