CONTINENT AND JAPAN STRONG SYDNEY MARKET LATE RATES MAINTAINED > (Received October 4. 8.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 4 At the Sydney wool sales to-day 12,290 bales were offered and 11,771 were sold. Also 1315 bales were sold privately. There was strong general competition from tho Continent and Japan and to a lesser degree from Yorkshire. The market displayed considerable strength at the closing rates of last week. Greasy Merino sold to 14d. AUCTIONS IN LONDON % HIGH SELLING LIMITS FREQUENT WITHDRAWALS LONDON. Oct. 3 At tlio London wool sales to-day 9216 bales, including 613 New Zealand, wero offered, and about 2484 were sold. There was a miscellaneous offering. New Zealands wero in short supply. There wero frequent withdrawals, owing to high selling limits. A New Zealand crossbred clip, "WGM/X" sold at follows:—Top price 841 I; average, 6^d. BRADFORD TOPS LITTLE NEW BUSINESS LONDON.
