BANK OF NEW ZEALANDS EASE

Business was not heavy on tlio Auckland Stock Exdiange yesterday. Keener interest was displayed i n Government loans and in three transactions firmer levels were registered. Dealing took place in 1939 per cent bonds 2s 6d d'.';vcr sit £95 ss, and a similar rise took tlace in 1937 per cent stock, both issues of which were done at £99 ss.

Buying support fiuetua'.ed in banks. Inquiry was stronger for both New South "Wales and Unions, but other lines were easier. Now Zealands' continued to move against holders and dropped lOd on sale' at 'lbs, a fall of Is since Saturday. For more buyers offered 45s 9d, and supplies were forthcoming at 46s 3d, a recession of 7d since the previous day. New South Wales were vainly sought 5s bettor at £27 15s, while offers for Unions were lifted from £7 I2s ft.l to £7 14s to a telling quotation of £7 18s 6d. Support for Nationals and Standard insurance showed an easier trend, with levels unchanged for New Zealands and Qneonslands. South British were unsupported ''at 57s 6d.

In loan and agency improved support was accorded Goldsbrough-Morts and loan and Mercantiles, with sellers holding steadily. Other sections were quiet with minor movements. Auckland Gas were clone unaltered at 21s 6d.

The only notable movement in tho miscellaneous section was a slight setback in Colonial Sugars following their rapid rise to £4B'los, business taking place 12s 6d lower at £47 17s 6d. Inquiry closed at £47, with holders maintaining £',B 10s.

Firmer conditions wore reflected in business in mining. Mount Lyells improved 3d in a transaction at 21s 3d, which re niained available for more. Golden Points advanced 2d in two sales at 7d and Bd. Kuala Kampar Tins were done unaltered at 6s 9d, while Golden D«,wiis registered the only loss in business 3d easier at ss.
