NEW PARNELL SCHOOL
PREPARATION OF THE SITE WORK TO BEGIN THIS WEEK A preliminary survey of the site of the old St. Stephen's School in St. Stephen's Avenue, Parncll, wa s commenced yesterday in connection with the preparation of the ground for tbe new Parnell school.
The survey will bo completed to day, and before tho end of the week relief workers will be engaged in clearing tlio site. The work was to have commenced yesterday, but arrangements had not been made for the laying-on of water, so the men will not begin for a day or two. The clearing will involve a certain amount of levelling, while tho replacement of the old stone walls, the removal of tho foundations of tho old school and the cutting back of the apex of tho triangular property are all included in tho programme. Tenders for the erection of the new school will be called within a month or six weeks.
