BRITISH TENNIS STAR LOS ANGELES SINGLES TITLE (Received September 25, 5.5 p.m.) LOS ANGELES. Sept. 24

The singles championship at the Pacific south-west championship was won to-day by Perry (Britain), who defeated Satoh (Japan) in the final, 6—2, 6—4, 7 —5. In the semi-finals yesterday Satoh had defeated Austin (Britain), B—6, 7—5, 4—6, o—6,0 —6, 6—l, and Perry had eliminated de Stefani (Italy), 6—3, 2—6, B—6, 6—3. The Japanese, in Die final, was far below the form he had exhibited against Vines and Austin.

After losing the first set in the doubles against Vines and Gledbill (United States), 6—B, Perry and Austin won the second set 6—l. They had tied, eight all, in the third when darkness stopped play. The deciding set will be finished tomorrow*
