VEGETABLE GARDENS
PLOTS FOR UNEMPLOYED The central area of land on the Wellington Town Belt, which has been prepared for vegetable growing by the unemployed, Is being pegged off in 18ft. by 40ft. plots. This area is considered quite large enough for a; man unused to gardening, and yet enough to keep him in vegetables if he cultivates it in the right way. Some 700 orders for seed have been distributed, and planting h,as been proceeding in the case of those workers with plots of their own. Seed planting on public ground will be made this week.
