COMBINED BREEDERS' SALE j ] FINAL DAY AT CLAUDELANDS I [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] I HAMILTON, Friday The 17th annual sale of pedigree bulls conducted by the Waikato Combined Breeders' Association was concluded at the Claudelands Show Grounds to-day, when the balance of the offering of yearling and two-year-old Jerseys was disposed of. The catalogued offering of 188 head again met with a fairly brisk demand, 125 bulls changing hands at an average price of 16|gns. On the third day of the sale last year 129 yearling and two-year-old Jerseys were disposed of, the average price realised being about ! lOgns. The highest price realised today was 43gns., paid by Messrs. Black Bros., of Paengaroa, for the two-year-old bull, Satrap of Bulls, bred by Dr. F. J. Watson, of Bulls. Following were the principal sales today —Dr. F. J. Watson's Satrap of Bulls, bought by Messrs. Black Bros. (Paengaroa), for 43gns.; Mr. J. K. Watson s Meadow Lea Rajah, Mr. K. W. Dalrymple (Bulls), 41gns.; Mr. A: B. Dale 3 Conandale Rosa's Majesty, Mr. T Kiddeli (Claudelands), 38gns.; Mr. J. Reid Harper's Claudelands Sultan, Dalgety and Company, Limited, as agents, 34gns.; Mr A B Dale's Conandale Red Robin, Mr' H. R- Clark (Te Kawa); 34gns. i Mr". T. Kiddle's Noble's Successor Mr. J. fine display of blooms BEAUTIFUL SPRING FLOWERS [jlY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] ROTORTJA, Friday An excellent display of blooms was staged to-day at the 27th annual daffodil and spring flower show held in Peerless Hall. The show was opened by Dr. H. Bertram, who referred to beautiful blooms on exhibit and said he would like to see the children -encouraged more to take -part in the show. He offered to donate a cup for the children's section. Mr. A. Heskett, who judged the daffodil section, said that notwithstanding the late date of the show he considered the exhibition was one of high merit. Ihe champion bloom of the show was one ot outstanding merit and had been exceptionally well grown. He was pleased to see the children taking more interest in exhibiting. One of the main attractions was an exhibition of spring flowers from the Government gardens, included in which were some fine specimens of sweet peas, Iceland poppies and anemones. The champion blooms were :—Trun?pet, Mrs C A. Clarke (Trewithiel); half trumpet, the Rev. W H. Speer (Bassilia); coloured cup, the Eev. W. xL. Speer (Scarlet Queen).
